1. . Cixiinae incertae sedis taxonomy
. Cixiinae incertae sedis is currently considered as a valid taxon of Fulgoromorpha, classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839. It was first described by in in the following paper: ..
. Cixiinae incertae sedis is currently only known through its extant representatives. It includes 1 genus (about 0.04% of all known extant Fulgoromorpha genera) and 2 species (about 0.01% of all known extant Fulgoromorpha species).
From a taxonomic perspective, the tribe . Cixiinae incertae sedis is currently subdivided into 1 genus, as summarized in Table 1.

2. . Cixiinae incertae sedis geographical distribution and bioregions
According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), . Cixiinae incertae sedis are known from the Afrotropical biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Madagascar zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of . Cixiinae incertae sedis arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.
3. . Cixiinae incertae sedis biological interactions
As all planthoppers, . Cixiinae incertae sedis are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects; they mainly feed on host plants belonging to the order: Arecales (Arecaceae).
Figure 3a depicts the orders of plants on which . Cixiinae incertae sedis feeds, and figure 3b the percentage they represent in the diet for the entire tribe. Figures 4a and 4b do the same more precisely for the family level of these plants.
