1. Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 taxonomy
Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Meenoplidae Fieber, 1872 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Distant W. L. in 1906 in the following paper: The fauna of British India, including Ceylon and Burma.3: 1-503.
It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Meenoplidae Fieber, 1872, subfamily Kermesiinae Kirkaldy, 1906, genus Nisia Melichar, 1903.
Nisia albovenosa is an extant taxon.
2. Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 geographical distribution and bioregions
According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 are known from the Oriental biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Indo-Malayan zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.
3. Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 biological interactions
As all planthoppers, Nisia albovenosa Distant, 1906 are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
