1. Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) taxonomy

Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Dictyopharidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Lallemand V. in 1935 in the following paper: Homoptères des Iles de la Sonde et de l'Australie du Nord. Revue Suisse de Zoologie. Annales de la Société Zoologique Suisse et du Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle de Genève. Genève, 42: 661-681.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Dictyopharidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Dictyopharinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Hastini Emeljanov, 1983, genus Anasta Emeljanov, 2008.

Anasta australiaca is an extant taxon.

2. Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) are known from the Australasia biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Australian zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Anasta australiaca (Lallemand, 1935) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
