It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Tropiduchidae Stål, 1866, subfamily Tropiduchinae Stål, 1866, tribe Tambiniini Kirkaldy, 1907, genus Garumna Melichar, 1914.
