It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Fulgoridae Latreille, 1807, subfamily Poiocerinae Haupt, 1929, tribe Poiocerini Haupt, 1929, subtribe Calyptoproctina Metcalf, 1938, genus Cyrpoptus Stål, 1862.
