1. Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) taxonomy

Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Muir F. A. G. in 1926 in the following paper: Spolia Mentawiensia : Fulgoroidea, Homoptera. Journal Malayan Branch Royal Asiatic Society, 4: 392-412.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Pentastirini Emeljanov, 1971, subtribe Pentastirina Emeljanov, 1971, genus Oliarus Stål, 1862.

Oliarus siporiensis is an extant taxon.

2. Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) are known from the biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Oliarus siporiensis (Muir, 1926) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
