Akmazeina† Szwedo, 2009 is currently considered as a valid taxon of genus rank in the family Neazoniidae† Szwedo, 2007 of the Fulgoromorpha. This genus was first described by Szwedo J. in 2009 in the following paper: First discovery of Neazoniidae (Insecta, Hemiptera, Fulgoromorpha) in the Early Cretaceous amber of Archingeay, SW France. Geodiversitas, 31(1) : 105-116.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Neazoniidae† Szwedo, 2007.

Akmazeina† is monospecific. The type species of the genus is Akmazeina santonorum† Szwedo, 2009.

Akmazeina† is an extinct taxon, known only as fossil from the Albian period (113 - 100.5 Mya).

2. Akmazeina† Szwedo, 2009 geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Akmazeina† Szwedo, 2009 are known from the Palaearctic biogeographical region as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Eurasian zoogeographic region as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Akmazeina† Szwedo, 2009 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Akmazeina† Szwedo, 2009 biological interactions
