1. Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 taxonomy

Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 is currently considered as a valid taxon of genus rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This genus was first described by Szwedo J. in 2019 in the following paper: Aphids, true hoppers, jumping plant-lice, scale insects, true bugs and whiteflies (Insecta: Hemiptera) from the Insect Limestone (latest Eocene) of the Isle of Wight, UK. Earth and Environmental Science Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, (doi:10.1017/S175569101900001X): 1-66.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Cixiini Spinola, 1839.

Dweivera† is monospecific. The type species of the genus is Dweivera reikea† Szwedo, 2019.

Dweivera† is an extinct taxon, known only as fossil from the Priabonian period (37.8 - 33.9 Mya).

2. Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 are known from the biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Dweivera† Szwedo, 2019 are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
