Duilius (Bitropis) limonii Emeljanov, 1964 is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Emeljanov A. F. in 1964 in the following paper: New Cicadina from Kazakhstan (Homoptera, Auchenorrhyncha). Trudy Zool. Inst. AS USSR [Proc. Zool. Inst. Ac. Sci. USSR], 34: 3-51.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Duiliini Emeljanov, 2002, genus Duilius Stål, 1858, subgenus Duilius (Bitropis) Dlabola, 1985.
