1. Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) taxonomy

Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) is currently considered as a valid taxon of species rank in the family Fulgoridae Latreille, 1807 of the Fulgoromorpha. This species was first described by Stål C. in 1862 in the following paper: Bidrag till Rio de Janeiro-tratkens Hemipterfauna.II. Handlingar. Kongliga Svenska Vetenskaps Akademien. Stockholm, 3(6) : 1-75.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Fulgoridae Latreille, 1807, subfamily Poiocerinae Haupt, 1929, tribe Poiocerini Haupt, 1929, subtribe Poiocerina Haupt, 1929, genus Crepusia Stål, 1866.

Crepusia saucia is an extant taxon.

2. Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) geographical distribution and bioregions

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) are known from the biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.

3. Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) biological interactions

As all planthoppers, Crepusia saucia (Stål, 1862) are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
