1. Bochara Distant, 1906 taxonomy
Bochara Distant, 1906 is currently considered as a valid taxon of genus rank in the family Flatidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This genus was first described by Distant W. L. in 1906 in the following paper: The fauna of British India, including Ceylon and Burma.3: 1-503.
It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Fulgoroidea Latreille, 1807, family Flatidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Flatoidinae Melichar, 1901.
Bochara is monospecific.
Bochara is an extant taxon.
2. Bochara Distant, 1906 geographical distribution and bioregions
According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Bochara Distant, 1906 are known from the biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013). Figures 1 and 2 display dynamic graphs showcasing the longitudinal and latitudinal profiles of Bochara Distant, 1906 arround the across the globe according to their species richness. A scroll on the histogram bars displays the species richness of the corresponding regions.
3. Bochara Distant, 1906 biological interactions
As all planthoppers, Bochara Distant, 1906 are obligatory phytophagous terrestrial insects.
